While we take every precaution to ensure your safety, it is your responsibility to avoid these risks and exercise appropriate care and caution at all times.
Please adhere to the following guidelines during your visit:
Follow all instructions given by our staff and listen carefully to the safety briefing.
– Visitors are not permitted in paddocks without staff supervision.
– Alpacas: though generally gentle animals, may spit, kick, or jump if they feel threatened. Avoid touching their heads and back legs as they are sensitive in these areas. While their kicks are not typically harmful, bruising can occur.
– When feeding horses, use a flat hand and keep your thumb clear to avoid accidental bites from their large teeth.
– We prioritize the protection and well-being of our animals and visitors. Visitors who provoke, tease, chase, or harass our animals will be asked to leave.
–Children must be strictly supervised at all times, especially small children who may be at a height disadvantage. Children under 6 years old are recommended to join our Laneway Feeding Trail, however all ages are permitted on the Guided In-Paddock tour, providing the following are adhered to:
– children aged 0-3 years must be carried by an adult at all times (except in the laneway)
– children aged 4-6 years must have their hand held by an adult (except in the laneway)
– All visitors must remain calm in the paddocks for safety. Noisy or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the tour.
– Please note there are no public toilets on-site. We recommend using the facilities on Main Street in Fairlie township before your visit.
– Car parking is available for coaches, campervans, buses, and private vehicles. Alpine Alpacas Ltd accepts no liability for any damage to vehicles while parked on our premises. Parking is at your own risk.
